Curriculum M1 MPRI at ENS Paris-Saclay

CBIO: Computational Bio-engineering

Description: Bioengineering is a rapidly growing discipline with applications in bioproduction, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, and medicine. It draws on expertise from biology, computer science, control theory, and other fields. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Construct and use mathematical models for bioengineering.
  • Apply compilation, control, and optimization techniques to a biological process.
  • Analyze and utilize experimental data from spectroscopy and microscopy.

See real-time course progression for up-to-date information, including examination modalities.

Outline:

  1. Modeling biological processes with chemical reaction networks
  2. Genetic control and logic gates
  3. Genetic oscillators
  4. Cell populations and distributed bacterial algorithms
  5. Plasmid design
  6. Stochastic simulation and parameter estimation
  7. Measurements and computer vision for microscopy
